Convert your 3D model to DAE format for use in Second Life.
The .blend format is the native file format used by Blender, an open-source 3D creation suite. It stores the entire Blender project, including geometry, materials, textures (embedded or linked), lighting, cameras, animations, and rigging data such as bones and skinning.
As an all-in-one format, .blend is ideal for working within Blender but is less suited for cross-platform or engine use without export. While not commonly used in production pipelines outside Blender, it’s perfect for saving complex scenes, simulations, and fully animated characters during development.
The DAE format (COLLADA) is a versatile XML-based 3D file type that supports geometry, animations, rigging, and textures. It's widely used for content exchange and is the standard format for importing custom 3D models into Second Life.
